Saving Zaid

Intisar Ali Hameed and her son, Zaid Asad Jameel, 2, were brought to the United States by HeartGift San Antonio so Zaid could have lifesaving heart surgery he couldn't get in Iraq. After one week in San Antonio, TX, Zaid checked into CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children's hospital and had surgery the following day to repair a ventricular septal defect and another hole in his heart. Beacuse of his illness, he constantly clung to his mother and cried when she wasn't holding him.
